Szekely Goulash with Seitan (The Stew)


500 g of sauerkraut

2 medium potatoes

250 g of seitan

Soy sauce

1/2 onion

2 tablespoons of red pepper powder







Cut seitan into pieces and marinate in a little bit of soy sauce. Cut onion into thin strips and begin frying it in oil. Add cubed potatoes and stir while frying. When the potato is nearly done, grab the pot and sprinkle everything with two tablespoons of red pepper.
Stir in the sauerkraut and keep stirring. Once the sauerkraut is done, pour 2 dl of water (and if you're just the person with an awesomely stocked kitchen, add that much the vegetable stock as well). Cover and simmer over low heat until the potatoes are cooked.
Meanwhile, drain seitan from soy sauce and bake in a pan until it gets nicely done and catches nice color. Finally, mix with sauerkraut and serve instantly.
