Bean Steaks


1 tablespoon of oil

1 minced onion

1 clove of minced garlic

1 teaspoon of milled coriander, 1 teaspoon of milled cumin

115 g of minced button mushrooms

425 g canned red kidney beans

2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley

salt, pepper, flour, for baking stakes

salad, as a side dish




Heat up the oil in a thick-bottom frying pan on a medium heat. Add onions and fry stirring frequently for 5 minutes, until soft. Add garlic, coriander and cumin, fry while stirring for one minute. Add mushrooms and cook while stirring frequently for 4-5 minutes until all the liquid evaporates. Move the mixture into a bowl.
Add beans into a smaller bowl and mash them with a fork. Blend it with the mushroom mixture and parsley, add salt and pepper.
Heat the grill on medium heat. Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts, sprinkle them with flour and shape them into flat, round steaks. Grease them up with a brush and grill each side for 4-5 minutes. Serve in hamburger buns with salad.
