Aunt Ljerka's Cake













100g of dried plums, 100g of dried apricots, 100g of whole walnuts, 100g of whole hazelnuts, 1 tablespoon of raisins soaked in rum, 1 tablespoon of cocoa, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 200g of sugar, 250g of flour, 5 large apples, 1 packet of baking powder


Put the frayed plums in a large bowl, add apricots, nuts and raisins soaked in rum. Add sugar and cinnamon and grated apples. Mix well by hand. Add the flour mixed with baking powder and cocoa. Stir with a wooden spoon or by hand. If the mixture is moisty add more flour. The mixture should be "sticky" in order to put a spoon into the mold. Spread the mixture in a narrow rectangular mold, coated with margarine and bread crumbs. Bake for an hour and a half at 160°C on the lower rungs of the oven.
