INGREDIENTS:
5 dg almonds
3/4 cup sugar
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 vanilla stick
6 cups water
6 firm, ripe and peeled pears
PREPARATION:
Cook almonds in boiling water for about 1 minute. Peel off skin. In large pot, mix water, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla and heat to boil. Add half the pears and cook until they soften, about 10 minutes. Move pears to the serving plate. Keep cooking until you get approximately one and a half cup of syrup.
Take out cinnamon and vanilla, add chopped up almonds and pour over pears.
